We toured Tiananmen Square today. Sooo many people, It was
crazy!!!! The Chinese people are friendly but they have no personal space
bubble. They weave in and out of crowds and just push their way through. It is
just a way of life here. The traffic is the same. Just squeeze your car,
rickshaw, moped into a little gap and go. CRAZY to watch!!! We had lunch in old
Beijing(HuTong). The food was good and very flavorful. The family was very nice
and let us take photos of their home. Each room is separate. You go outside and
to the next doorway to change rooms. One for the Kitchen, dining room, bedroom,
family room. The oldest house in this area were built over 200 years ago. After
70 years the government takes your home and gives it to someone else or you can
buy it again if you have the money. We took rickshaws to their home and
then back to our bus. $3.00 per rider was a great deal.
Jay and Jason crashed out and are sleeping. I’m trying to
stay awake so I sleep tonight. We will walk to an open air market later and
have dinner(if I can get them up J) 3 days till Gotcha Day.
Tomorrow we see the Great Wall and the next day we fly down
to ZhengZhou where we will get the girls on Monday.
